You know you're in American when...

You are checking in online for our flight to Los Angeles, and the airline reminds passengers that items like aerosols, camp stoves, scuba tanks, dry ice, fragile items, AND handguns should be packed in checked luggage.

Another sign: No guns in this shop, please!

And then in a shopping mall, the entrance to Nordstrom's has a sign that says "Guns not allowed on premises"...
